What's included

A sample of the 19 reminders in this calendar.

Lease Renewal: 90-Day Heads Up

Your lease ends in about 90 days. Start thinking about whether you want to renew, negotiate, or move. Research comparable rents in your area so you have leverage if rent increases.

Lease Renewal: 60-Day Decision Point

Your lease ends in about 60 days. Most leases require 30-60 days notice if you plan to move out. Decide now: renew, negotiate, or start apartment hunting.

Lease Renewal: Submit Notice or Renew

Your lease ends in about 30 days. If you haven't already: submit your written notice to vacate OR sign your renewal. Check your lease for the exact notice deadline — missing it can trigger auto-renewal or month-to-month rates.

Move-Out: Start Planning

Two weeks until lease ends. Start packing non-essentials. Schedule movers or reserve a truck. Set up mail forwarding with USPS. Notify utilities of your move-out date.

Move-Out: Deep Clean & Patch Walls

One week until lease ends. Start deep cleaning: oven, fridge, bathrooms, floors. Patch nail holes and touch up paint if required by your lease. Take timestamped photos of every room for your records.

Move-Out: Final Walkthrough & Key Return

Lease ends today or tomorrow. Do a final walkthrough with your landlord if possible. Return all keys, garage openers, and access cards. Get written confirmation of move-out. Take final photos of the empty unit.

Security Deposit Follow-Up

Your landlord typically has 14-30 days to return your security deposit (varies by state). If you haven't received it, send a written request. Keep copies of your move-out photos and any communication.

Move-In: Document Everything

Take timestamped photos of every room, wall, floor, appliance, and fixture BEFORE you unpack. Note any existing damage on your move-in checklist. Email photos to your landlord so there's a record. This protects your security deposit.
